I just love collecting...

It's more than grains of sand or meteorite shards—it's about connecting
with the world's wonders, preserving them through photos, and painting
the ocean’s whispers onto canvas."

What is Sand Samples?

psammophile

A psammophil is a plant or animal that prefers or thrives in sandy areas. The term psammo comes from the Ancient Greek word ψάμμος (psámmos) for "sand," and -philo is derived from φίλος (phílos), meaning "dear" or "beloved." Someone who collects sand samples is known as a psammophile or an arenophile. This fascinating hobby revolves around the incredible variety of texture, color, mineralogy, and place of origin.

That's who I am—a devoted psammophile. On this website, I share photographs of my cherished sand samples. The name of this site reflects this unique passion! While I am an amateur, I hope to pass on the joy and wonder I experience through this fascinating endeavor.
